February, the month of Love



February is often known for being a month dedicated to love and romance. The border month between winter and spring. It is not only about valentines and sweethearts but it can also be about loving and caring for oneself and fostering new and better relationships with family and friends. The definition of self love can be described in countless ways because we all take care of ourselves differently, sometimes while caring for others. According to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, "Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness." According to Dr. Jade Wu, Ph.D., Here are some ways to develop self love: Listen to your body and give it exactly what it needs including rest and nourishment; Allow yourself to really experience your emotions, even difficult ones; Express yourself creatively and spend time on the activities you care about and; Be patient and forgiving to yourself, and set boundaries where you need them.
