Cubans are peacefully protesting the long standing lack of food and medicine and other life necessities, under communism. They have a right to protest, they have a right to be free. Freedom finally for the Cuban people! As a Flight Attendant, I’ve been to Havana, maybe 100 times but never left the airport. The people have been wonderful, even through their struggles. they truly are resilient and strong. A few of the older aged staff left an imprint in my heart. The blank look in their eyes reminded me of the poster “boulevard of broken dreams” perhaps they were thinking ‘what could or should have been. thanks to the internet and music, awareness has awoken the courage to break the chains of communism and finally liberate the powerful Cuban people.
