Humantay Lake is one of the most famous lakes in the Peruvian Andes. Humantay stands out as a blue gem amongst the mountains and is only a few hours away from Cusco. The lake waters are fed by glaciers. As the ice melts, it releases minerals that give Humantay Lake the vivid shades of blue and green. Humantay Lake was a sacred site to the Incan people. The lake still has huge significance to the locals. Thank you Carolina for sharing this breathtaking photo taken at Humantay Lake.
