Looking towards the future Mirando hacia el futuro

There are people who enter our lives simply by doing their jobs - and then there are those whose work changes the way we experience the world.

For me, that person is Dr. Suh, whom I affectionately think of as my 'Dr. See." After being told that I was night blind, I had accepted that seeing poorly at night was simply something I would have to live with. Today, after my eye surgery and Dr. Suh's care, I can see so much better. I can see the light - literally - and I dont take that gift for granted.

What makes Dr. Suh special is not only her knowledge and skill, but the energy she brings to her work. She has said that she treats her patients like family, and from my experience, those are not simply words. She combines professionalism with warmth, making you feel that the person behind the eyes matters just as much as the eyes themselves.

Sometimes we forget how profoundly one person's dedication to their profession can affect another person's life. A doctor may perform a procedure many times, but for the person receiving that care, the result can mean rediscovering colors, light, independence, confidence - and peices of everyday life that had quietly faded.

So today, I simply want to say thank you, Dr. Suh. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, you wonderful energy, and your gift with patients. You have helped me see my world differently, in more ways than one.

Under the same sky, sometimes someone helps us see the light a little more clearly.

Hay personas que entran en nuestras vidas simplemente haciendo su trabajo...y luego estan aquellas cuyo trabajo cambia la manera en que experimentamos el mundo.

Para mi. esa persona es la Dra. Suh, a quien carinosamente ahora pienso como mi "Dra See." Despues de que me dijeron que tenia ceguera nocturna, acepte que ver mal de noche era simplemente algo con lo que tendria que vivir. Hoy, despues de mi cirugias de los ojos y gracias al cuidado de la Dra. Suh, puedo ver muchisimo mejor. Puedo ver la luz - literalmente - y no doy ese regalo por sentado.

Lo que hace especial a la Dra. Suh no es solamaente su conocimiento y desdtreza, sino tambien la energia y humanidad que aporte a su trabajo. Ella ha dicho que trata a sus pacientes como si fueran familia y, segun mi experiencia, no son simplemente palabras. Combina el profesionalismo con la calidez, haciendote sentir que la persona detras de los ojos importa tanto como los ojos mismos.

A veces olvidamos cuanto puede transformar la vida de otra persona la dedicaion de algien a su profesion. Un medico puede realizar un procedimiento muchas veces, pero para quien recibe ese cuidado, el resultado puede significar redescubrir colores, luz, indiependiencia, confianza...y pequenos pedazos de la vida cotidiana que, silenciosamente, se habian ido desvaneciendo.

Asi que ho simplemente quiero decir gracias, Dr. Suh. Gracias por compartir sus conocimientos, su maravillosa energia y su don con sus pacientes. Usted me ha ayudado a ver mu mundo de una manera diferente, en mas de un sentido.

Bajo el mismo cielo, a veces alguien nos ayuda a ver la luz con un poquito mas de claridad.
